Hello, my name is Daniel Arriaga. I am currently a first-time freshman at California State University Northridge. I am majoring Kinesiology-Exercise Science to pursue my Bachelor's Degree and get my Master's after. I love music, video games, drawing, and helping people. I was born in the city of Garden Grove and lived in Westminster, California. I like to think that I'm understood, but it's alright to be misunderstood sometimes. My name is Jasmine Avila and I am freshman here at CSUN. I chose this exercise because I think it is one of my strongest exercises that I did this semester in English 115. I wouldn't mind to show students this as an example of how to do the exercise. I talk about some special and not so special spaces that I have gone to, to brainstorm what space I would be talking about in my Project Space essay.

My name is Harshvardhan Singh Bola and I am a first-year Pre-Finance major at California State University, Northridge. I’m eighteen years old and was raised in the Mid-City and Hollywood areas of Los Angeles. I attended Loyola High School before coming to CSUN. Some of my hobbies include drawing and painting. I am an amateur boxer currently fighting out of Wildcard Boxing Gym in Hollywood. Academically speaking, the most enjoyable activity for me is writing.

My name is Crystal Dominguez (she/her/hers) and I went to Birmingham High School for my freshman and sophomore year ,then my junior and senior year I went to Alliance Gertz-Ressler High School and graduated.  I am currently 18 years old, my birthday is May 30th, 2003 and my zodiac sign is a gemini.  My major is Radiological Sciences and in a few years I see myself becoming a radiologist. I was born in Northridge,  California but raised in Los Angeles, California. I was also raised by my grandparents. I have one little brother that is now 15 years old. This poem is about my childhood and what I went through. This poem reflects who I am and who I have become because of what I went through. This is my favorite assignment because I loved how it came out and it is so raw. This poem explains where I come from in little words and that is beyond powerful to me. I also enjoyed expressing my feelings while writing this poem.

Hello, my name is Solaris Galan, I am 18 years old and my pronouns are they / them. I am part Native American and Mexican as my mom is from the Chumash tribe and my dad is from Veracruz. Along with my parents, I also live with my younger sister in a small town called Piru. I plan on graduating from CSUN in four years as a Computer Science major although I also plan on declaring a minor in photography.

My name is Sophia Witwit and I am a first-year freshman here at CSUN. I am currently majoring in Nutrition and Dietetics, and my future goal is to become a registered dietitian. I am very interested in plants, food health, and journaling, and am excited to learn more in my next years of schooling at CSUN.

My name is Denisse Gonzalez Cruz but I usually just write my name as Denisse Gonzalez. My pronouns are she/her. I went to Polytechnic High School. I played basketball and volleyball competitively while I was in high school, now I just play it for fun. I am currently going to CSUN. My major is accounting. I want to start an accounting business of my own to file people's taxes. I grew up in the San Fernando Valley and I am still living there now. I love going to the beach, whether it is swimming, doing a bonfire, or just watching the waves. I also recently started traveling.

Hi! My name is Alessandra Gorospe (she/her/hers). Growing up in the Philippines, I had no internet so I had a bunch of time for myself. I usually went outside to my 'backyard' which is just a small farm with vegetation and animals. I am an 18-year old freshman in the Exploratory major at CSUN. I grew up in Van Nuys with a deep love for the performing arts. In everything I do, I make sure to tell a story within my original songs, writing compositions, and theatrical performances. Although I am not sure what I want to be when I grow up, I know that I need music and literature in my life. Writing and music is how I express who I am and my perception of the world, and that freedom is invigorating.

Hello, my name is Paulina Yau and I am a freshman at CSUN. This will be my first semester in college, although all my classes are online. It has been a bit challenging but interesting at the same time. I really like my Hum 101 and English 115 class so far. It has been fun to do different types of writing and test my skills in writing. Currently my major is Radiologic Sciences and I’m also a first generation student in my family to go to college. It is a bit hard as I can’t ask for help at home but I’ve gotten plenty of help from my peers and professors.

My name is Mahwish Zahid and I use the pronouns She/Her/Hers. I was named by my grandfather after the beauty of the moon which is why I chose to make different phases of the moon my theme. I was born in California and grew up in Reseda. I enjoy creative writing and medicine/health studies. I started creative writing in middle school and have published a few of my stories online. In order to cultivate my passion for medicine, I am a cell and molecular biology major at CSUN and want to go to medical school. Aside from that, I enjoy swimming and going to the beach.
